FAQ’s

Q. My local builder says I have rising damp and can repair it, can I rely on him?

A. Your local builder may well be qualified and can competently sort out your damp problem. However one should be aware that diagnosing damp problems correctly requires training and the assessor and operatives should work to BS6576 code of practice for the diagnosis of damp in buildings and walls and must be able to offer you a guarantee. The damp industry has obtained a bad reputation owing to the actions years ago of over sales reps and even to this day is tainted by people with insufficient training and cowboys looking to make some easy money. In addition, the owner or landlord wanting a quick and cheap solution to the problem also facilitates and supports the existence of "cowboys", wrong diagnosis and incompetent working practice. This results after a short period of time in either recurring problems and a waste of time and money for the client. In short, if the person doing your damp repair does not offer a guarantee and cannot confirm that they work to an authorised procedure, then you are taking a risk if you hire them.

Q. Your diagnosis is free, what is the catch?

A. Absolutely none, we will do a comprehensive diagnosis give you a brief report with our recommendations, answer any questions you have and leave the rest up to you. No sale pressure whatever!

Q. I need a full written report on my damp problem, does this cost anything.

A. Because of the time and liability involved we are obliged to charge for full diagnostic reports. However our prices are fair and more than competitive for such a service.

Q. I have read about your Mur-Tronic system. Is your system the same as osmotic systems that have been on the market for some 30 years e.g. Rentokil?

A. No our Mur-Tronic system is not the same, there is not need to install electrodes, anodes, titanium wire in the brickwork etc. and no power source is required. Our system is ingenious and uses the energy from the naturally occurring geomagnetic fields and reverses the phase. Totally logical and works on sound scientific fact!

Q. How do I know it will work?

A. It has been working in France for over 26 years. If after our tests we confirm that you have rising damp we guarantee that we will stop it and it will not come back as long as Mur-Tronic is installed. Also remember that our system will work for continuously and effectively for over 50 years. No one else can offer you such long term protection. Call us for the contact details of French architects (English speaking) who will confirm how good it is!

Q. It is an electronic product is it dangerous to health?

A. Not at all, in fact customers have found it to be the reverse and many claim that they sleep better. We do not promote it on this basis i.e. health and make no claims in this respect, we leave it to the client to try it and see!

Q. Can I buy and install the product myself?

A. Yes, if you follow our installation advice. However we would recommend that you verify that you have rising damp and you follow our recommendations after installation.

Q. How soon can I expect a result from Mur-Tronic?

A. Within 2 to 3 hours the water rising up the capillaries will descend and the walls will start to dry out. In all situations regardless of the method used to stop rising damp the walls can take months to dry out (However don’t worry there are several methods available so that you can restore and redecorate your walls while the drying continues). You will also notice that damp smells will disappear. We will conduct a test approximately on year later to confirm the walls are dry.

Q. I have a small patch of damp on my wall, can you deal with this?

A. Generally we have found that small jobs can be treated effectively by current chemical methods and the cost for treating these is low. Thus we do not recommend Mur-Tronic for small patches etc. However you will find many tradesmen who can deal with this, just make sure they verify the source of the damp and that they guarantee their work.

Q I am interested in retailing Mur-Tronic or using it in my business, is it possible to purchase it from you wholesale?

A. Yes this is possible. However if you wish to be an installer you would require training in our diagnosis process and enter into an agreement with us.

Q. Do you accept credit and debit cards?

A. Yes we do!
